But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us..... Romans 5:8
For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die .............. Romans 5:6-7
It has been in my heart for sometime to share the Gospel which is the Good News of Jesus Christ. The Gospel is Good News for us. I have been blessed and it is my priviledge to share and declare the goodness and glory of my Lord Jesus Christ.
I grew up and perhaps many of us have grown up admiring some Hollywood figures as our heros - mainly from the influence of television. We may have wished we were superman with super powers to rescue the weak and innocent and helpless or perhaps like Bionic Man or Woman or Spiderman for the younger generation.
The truth is that as admirable as these characters may seem to appear on TV, these are ficticious characters and their actions are not without selfish motives or violence.
To me, my hero is my Lord Jesus Christ. There is only one pure motive why He came to earth and that is to save man from hell. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotton Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life .... John 3:16.
Jesus knew that He did not come to perfect people but to people who are imperfect (just like the prostitute and the tax collector) who needed a Saviour, a superhero to rescue them. He knew the price He had to pay - to take on the curse at the cross and be stripped of all earthly possessions, be beaten, humiliated, torn apart and worst of all, to be separated from His Daddy God when He took on our sins at the cross.
The bible says that while we were still imperfect, Christ died for us. He did not come to save perfect people. He came to save imperfect people, ungodly people, people who need a way of escape, people who cannot save themselves. And all this for a pure motive of LOVE. This is how God our Father, our Daddy demonstrated His love toward us by giving everything that He has, His Beloved Son Jesus Christ for us - send Him to the cross to take all all our punishments for all our sins (past, present and future).
Therefore the Bible, the Word of God declares "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus" ..... Romans 8:1. The Good News is that we have been set free and cannot be condemned for our sins (past, present and future) when we choose to accept what Christ has done for us at the cross.
The Bible is not meant for "Perfect" people - it is meant for imperfect people who needs help, who needs a Saviour, who needs encouragement, who needs deliverance, who needs healing who needs love. In the beginning of Jesus ministry, as a young lad, He opened the scriptures and declare the Good News for the poor, the brokenhearted, the captives, the blind, the oppressed.
Luke 4:17 - 20 17 And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written: 18“ The Spirit of the LORDisupon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel tothepoor; He has sent Meto heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty tothecaptives And recovery of sight totheblind, Toset at liberty those who areoppressed; 19To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD 20 Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down
The Bible is not about Do's and Don'ts. It is about receiving His love, His grace, His mercy which empowers us to walk in the path of His righteousness not ours. The starting point is receiving and not doing. For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son. The starting point for God is His giving. The starting point for us is our receiving and that is receiving the gift He has sent us; His beloved Son Jesus Christ. A gift is not a gift until we receive it.
There are many good news which I would like to share and my hope and prayer is that you will rejoice when you know the goodness of the Gospel and the heart of our Daddy God. And to know the only Superhero, Jesus Christ who gave everything and died for us who are imperfect so that we can have a perfect relationship with God Almighty our Daddy. Amen!
My name is Francis and it is my priviledge to honour my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He is my Superhero who came down from heaven to die for me on the cross. He cleared all my sin debts by taking the punishment for them on my behalf.
